unforgettable movie : Requiem for a Dream

"Requiem for a Dream" is a powerful and emotionally wrenching film that has left a lasting impact on audiences worldwide. Directed by Darren Aronofsky and based on the novel by Hubert Selby Jr., the film tells the story of four characters struggling with addiction and its devastating consequences.

The film follows Sara Goldfarb (Ellen Burstyn), Harry Goldfarb (Jared Leto), Marion Silver (Jennifer Connelly), and Tyrone C. Love (Marlon Wayans) as they descend into addiction and desperation. Sara becomes addicted to diet pills in an attempt to be thin enough to appear on a television show, while Harry and Marion become addicted to drugs as they try to become successful drug dealers. Tyrone becomes addicted to drugs as he tries to escape the reality of his difficult life.

As the characters become more reliant on their addictions, they lose touch with reality and their relationships with each other. The film is a heart-wrenching portrayal of the destructive power of addiction and is sure to leave a lasting impression on any viewer.

One of the things that makes "Requiem for a Dream" so powerful is its performances. Burstyn, Leto, Connelly, and Wayans give raw and emotionally charged performances that will stay with you long after the film ends. The film is also notable for its visual style, with Aronofsky using innovative techniques to bring the film's dark and disturbing world to life.

Some of the notable techniques used in the film include:

  1. Rapid cutting: The film features a fast-paced editing style, with shots often lasting only a few seconds. This technique helps to create a sense of disorientation and discomfort, and it is often used to convey the characters' states of mind as they become more and more addicted.

  2. Split screens: The film frequently uses split screens to show multiple events occurring simultaneously, which helps to create a sense of chaos and disconnection.

  3. Distorted imagery: The film uses a variety of techniques to distort and manipulate the images on screen, such as fisheye lenses, slow motion, and fast motion. These techniques are used to create a sense of dreamlike unreality and to reflect the characters' distorted perspectives.

  4. Sound design: The film's sound design is also noteworthy, with the use of electronic music and sound effects to create a sense of tension and unease.

These techniques, along with the film's powerful performances and compelling story, help to make "Requiem for a Dream" a memorable and impactful viewing experience.

Overall, "Requiem for a Dream" is a film not to be missed. It is a powerful and emotional portrayal of the destructive power of addiction, and its performances and visual style are sure to leave a lasting impression on any viewer. If you haven't seen it yet, make sure to watch it – you won't be disappointed.

Tom Cruise: The Crazy Boy

The action film Top Gun: Maverick was released in June 2020 and is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film is a sequel to the 1986 film Top Gun, which starred Tom Cruise as Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, a naval aviator who attended Top Gun school. In the upcoming film, Maverick returns to the school as an instructor and faces a new challenge when he is sent on a special mission.

The film was directed by Joseph Kosinski, who is known for his work on films such as Tron: Legacy and Oblivion. Kosinski worked closely with producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Cruise to bring the story of Top Gun: Maverick to life. The film was shot on location in various locations around the world, including San Diego, California, and the United Arab Emirates.

The film's script was based on an original story by Ehud Lavski and Bruckheimer, with additional material written by Christopher McQuarrie and Peter Craig.  The story is based on Maverick's return to Top Gun school and his relationship with his late friend's son, Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller). Bradshaw is a talented pilot who is determined to follow in his father's footsteps. However, he struggles to live up to Maverick's legacy and the demands of the Top Gun franchise.

As Maverick trains Bradshaw and the other students at the school, he is also tasked with a special mission that takes him to the Middle East. Along the way, he encounters old enemies and faces personal demons as he struggles to come to terms with his past and his place in the world. The film also features Jennifer Connelly and Val Kilmer.

Top Gun: Maverick had a budget of around $200 million, making it one of the most expensive films ever made. The budget for the film included the cost of special effects, sets and locations, and the salaries of the film's cast and crew. The film also featured a number of high-end military aircraft and other military hardware, which added to the overall cost of the production. Also, the movie was a box office success, grossing over $350 million worldwide.  My opinion is that it was successful because of its nostalgia factor, since it was a sequel to Top Gun from 1986.

As well as its financial success, Top Gun: Maverick has demonstrated Tom Cruise's popularity as an action star and the enduring appeal of the Top Gun series.

As a whole, The movie combines high-energy action sequences with an engaging storyline. There is no doubt that Top Gun: Maverick is a worthy successor to the original film, which is sure to be of interest to fans of the franchise and new comers.

Mercredi..

Avatar 2: Breath-taking Experience..

Avatar : The Way of Water is the long-awaited sequel to James Cameron's groundbreaking 2009 film, Avatar. The movie features an all-star cast, including returning actors Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana, as well as newcomers Kate Winslet and Cliff Curtis. After over a decade of anticipation, Avatar 2 is finally set to hit theaters in December 2022. As a fan of the original movie and a follower of the film industry, I was excited to see what the sequel had in store. In this review, I'll share my thoughts on the plot, themes, and other elements of Avatar 2.

Movies are typically shot and displayed at a frame rate of 24 fps, but some movies, including Avatar 2, have used higher frame rates of 48 or 60 fps. Using a higher frame rate can create a more realistic and immersive viewing experience, as the increased number of frames can make the action on screen appear smoother and more realistic. Believe it or not, it's a mind-blowing experience that I loved and love.

James Cameron is known for pushing the technical limits in his movies, and Avatar 2 is no exception:

  • He used high frame rate (HFR) technology in Avatar 2.
  • The movie also featured groundbreaking motion capture work for the Na'vi characters.
  • Cameron used a combination of practical and digital effects to create the creatures and environments of Pandora.
  • The level of detail and realism achieved in the special effects is impressive.

The story is straightforward In Pandora's world, Jake Sully is undecided between his loyalty to his own family and his duty to protect the Na'vi. Protecting his family and protecting the oceans are James Cameroon's concerns on Avatar 2.

The actors' work was hilarious, particularly for the underwater shooting (many scenes were shot underwater in a very large pool made exclusively). Comedians learn new respiratory skills: 7.15 minutes for Kate Winslet (Ronal) and 6.5 minutes for Sigourney Weaver (Kiri).

The technology behind Avatar 2 is breathtaking, for example: In underwater scenes, they used multiple motion capture cameras (Mocap cameras). James Cameroun has developed a device called THE DEEP X 3D. Which weighs less than 30 kilos and can be handled by one person and the actors themselves they wear a GoPro action camera.

The Spirituality in Avatar 2 is too powerful, one can feel it and experience it during the 3-hour show. Neural tendrills help NA'VI connect to animals and land and even EYWA. How do we connect profoundly to ourselves and the natural world that surrounds us? With the connection of the divine anything can be accomplished. "All energy is lent and that one day it has to be returned", this sentence was said in the two films of Avatar and resume everything. All life is loaned and that one day must be given back to the divine.

Amazing Start !! The Peripheral

The Peripheral  is one of the best sci-fi series on TV.  As good as Westworld. You'll be happy to hear that it's much easier to understand and track than Westworld.

This show is in some respects a typical British drama, with some tough southerners thrown into the action part. Understanding all the nuances in the dialogue is essential to keep up with what the characters are doing.  I don't think it's that difficult.

They're doing all right.
"Weapon development".
"We have AI for that," Wilf said. "We could manipulate your markets, make money there, and pay you with it, Your markets, make money there, and pay you with it,
But our AI is free, essentially, so it wouldn’t be worth it. "
"Art," said Virgil. "Music. Literature. "
"Yes," said Netherton. "But still, in practice, there’s no real economic basis."
Only information can come and go. But there's not a lot on the screen YET.
I recommend it, and I enjoy it. I hope this continues, we have a number of seasons.
I'm very excited about next season.

Wednesday The Amazing Series

Wednesday Addams was expelled from several institutions and went to Nevermore Academy, a 'school for outsiders'. Strange events begin to occur every day. As Wednesday becomes intrigued, she also starts digging to find out who the killer or beast is, perhaps she can save her school in the process.

Throughout each episode, the main character has evolved until she can rescue the Nevermore Academy and her family. Despite starting out lonely, Wednesday ended up becoming a hero who is beloved by everyone. As she contemplated going out for a date, she found herself kissing the beast she had been looking for, considering it her best match, but she insisted to destroy him.
We expect nothing less from Tim Burton. For instance, the first thing he does in this film is to create an atmosphere that is unprecedented. He makes our main character Wednesday extremely dark and gothic: the way she speaks, the way she walks, and the fact that she is wearing only black.
Life is all about being yourself means different, but you shouldn't live alone, with constant caution, obviously.
Despite your coldness and difficulty, your heart must soften, for you are a living being driven by feelings. Wednesday, at the beginning of the series, quoted the French philosopher Sartre as saying: "Hell is other people".
but in the end, this saying was contradicted when Eugene attacked Laurel by shedding bees on her and said: 'Hummers stick together' and Wednesday's look confirmed his words.
The writing is quite interesting, it was jointly written by Charles Addams, Miles Miller, and Alfred Gough. As you do not get bored at any time, you cannot look away from the screen.
The direction was very precise, and was also split between Tim Burton (4episodes), James Marshall (2 episodes), and Gandja Monteiro (2 episodes):
-The Image is beautiful, very colourful, and dominated by the Gothic atmosphere.
-Success in casting all main and secondary characters.
-The costume and the make-up were so colorful and realistic except Wednesday she was unicolor.
-A gothic horror decor that emerged mainly in the building of the Nevermore Academy; the large number of statues, drawings and paintings.
-The soundtrack used in the series allowed us to enter and experience the suspense mixed with some hits for 40 years (Metallica, DuaLipa, The Cramps).
Well, thank you for that work of art.

We'll hold off until next season.
